Mark George started out playing senior Rugby as a powerful mobile back row player that led to him playing in the Guinness Championship and being capped by England at Student Level. However on analysing his game studying the situation in England concerning the back row and the front row he made a brave decision that is starting to pay dividends by electing to switch positions. Tight head prop is a position that is constantly in demand and we feel that Mark has made the right choice. He meticulously studied front row play on a weekly basis whilst at Hartpury College over 2 seasons and after graduating in 2008 is now establishing himself as a talented Prop. As you would expect from a talented ex back row player Mark is very mobile. He has good hands and is a first class ball carrier. Mark has played tight head prop for Gloucester A and Worcester A. Previous clubs include Stourbridge RFC and Birmingham Solihull RFC.
Mark signed for CR La Villa in the Spanish Premiership for the 2008-2009 season as a ful time professional player. Due to a successful season where he established himself as one of the best tight heads in Spain Mark signed again for CR La Villa for the 2009 - 2010 season. During 2009 Mark played for the Mariners Franchise in the inaugural Iberian Cup and he was a key figure in their march to the final against Madrid. A tied game at 28-28 resulted in a dubious count back victory for Madrid. For Mark a series of powerful performances enhanced his reputation culminating in him being recognised as the leading tight head in the competition.
