MC Sports have recently negotiated (January 2010) a 2 year contract for promising young Scrum Half James Doherty with the Cornish Pirates. James –“MC Sports have been a great influence on my career and their guidance and recommendation along with my total enjoyment of playing my Rugby at the Pirates made signing this new contract an easy decision. I know I am in safe hands with MC Sports and the Pirates.”

MC Sports also welcomes a new client in the shape of exciting New Zealand 7’s International Mike Davis. Mike is currently the top Full Back in Spain and is looking at options in Italy and France. An Air New Zealand Cup player with Canterbury and Northland Mike is looking to carve out a career in Europe. Other new clients include SC Albi’s former London Irish and Worcester Samoan International Dominic Feaunati and Steaua Buchrest No8 Daniel Ianus who was the young Romanian Player of the Year in 2008 and at 23 has a big future having made his International debut in 2009.

MC Sports negotiated the movement of young Second Row Glen Townson to Doncaster Knights “I would like to thank my agents MC Sports who have been excellent, supportive and always available". After a disappointing start Doncaster have recently turned the corner and Glen is one player who is earning great reviews with his consistently high performances. Top flight clubs both at home and in Europe are starting to monitor his progress and 2010 – 2011 will be an exciting time for this player.

Congratulations go to Tinus du Plessis for helping Namibia qualify for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand. Tinus was an outstanding performer in both legs of the World Cup African Play Off Final in November 2009 and stormed over for a try in the second leg to settle Namibian nerves and steer his country through to a fourth World Cup Final Competition. Tinus is already looking forward to a second successive finals competition and will be a key player for his country during 2010 and 2011 when he will be playing in the Vodacom Cup for Namibia as they make their debut in that competition .

Uale Mai enhanced his reputation further by appearing in all three of Samoa's autumn 2009 Internationals against Wales, France and Italy. Irritating issues with the new visa applications that clearly Embassy Staff do not understand prevented this player joining a top Championship side in the January 2010 transfer window. He has joined fellow Samoan International Pale Toelupe on the IRB World 7 Series pending joining a European side for the 2010 – 2011 season.  Both were in match winning form as Samoa won the IRB 2010 USA Leg beating New Zealand in the Final.

Nottingham tight head Petrus du Plessis has made a big impact since arriving in the summer of 2009 and we are pleased to announce he has been named Nottingham Player of the Month for October 2009. This highlights further that Petrus is one of the outstanding tight heads in the Championship.

Tom Jarvis is earning rave reviews in Italy after scoring 5 tries in 9 games in Florence and it is no surprise that Super 10 Clubs are starting to take notice as well as clubs in the UK.

Luke Cozens and Gareth Griffiths top the points scoring charts in Spain’s Premiership and Mike Denbee and Adam Newton are both being singled out as stand out players in the League. Young Jaike Carter is fulfilling his promise with good performances for Cetransa El Salvador and Dave Palu is confirming himself as the top number 9 in this league.

Not surprisingly South African Students International Tashrique Hearn is proving a handful for opposition loose heads in France with FC Lourdais.

Samoan International back row Ati Olive has been in great form for Galwegians in AIB 1 he has been training with Connacht and playing for their A team in recent weeks. Ati – “A chance to play for Connacht would be an honour; it was one of the reasons I came to Ireland to see if I could earn a Magners League contract”.

IRB World 7’s Player of the Year - Uale Mai the Samoan 7’s Captain and World 7’s Player of the Year in 2006 who was also nominated for this prestigious award in 2008 has appointed MC Sports as his official agent. Uale is very keen to play in Europe. This very talented Half Back is equally at home at 9 or 10. Uale helped Samoa qualify for the RWC 2011 in late 2009 and is a regular in the Samoa 15 a side squad. Very experienced and with great skills it is hoped the player will be entertaining crowds in the Northern Hemisphere before too long.
“MC Sports were recommended to me and after speaking to them I had no hesitation in appointing them as my agents” Uale Mai 2009.

Congratulations to Matt Riley and James Fitzpatrick for being selected for the England Counties 2010 Squad.
