Parra and Fitzy off to the Premiership! MC Sports are pleased to announce that Nottingham tight head Prop Petrus du Plessis (Parra) has signed for Premiership side Saracens for the 2010 – 2011 season and Blaydon Centre James Fitzpatrick (Fitzy)  has signed for Newcastle Falcons.

Petrus du Plessis joined Saracens in March 2010 due to injuries in the Saracens Squad and went straight into the first team squad for the remainder of the Premiership season. His season culminated when he played in the Premiership Final at Twickenham  weighing in with a heroic performance.

Powerhouse England Counties Centre James Fitzpatrick has signed for Newcastle Falcons for the 2010-2011 season. Fitzy has been literally running over players in National 1 up and down the country all season. He will be an exciting addition to the Newcastle first team squad.

Petrus – “I am excited about this opportunity and have the upmost respect for Brendan Venter and Cobus Visage. It will be an honour to work for them. Nottingham has been good for me and I want to thank Glen Delaney and the staff for improving me as a player. I also want to thank MC Sports who have been fantastic they have supported me, advised me and mentored me and their involvement in my career has been very important. I know that they handle my career with my interest and I would not consider any other agency.”

Brendan Venter: ‘Petrus du Plessis has emerged as one of the outstanding young props in the Championship, and we are grateful to MC Sports for bringing him to our attention’.

James – “To join Newcastle is a dream come true. It is where I want to play my Rugby and to be able to learn from someone like Alan Tait is very exciting. MC Sports have been really good with their advice. They do the talking and I do the playing, that is a perfect situation for me. They make you feel welcome and they care about you as a person.”

Alan Tait - "I kept being told about this kid at Blaydon who was causing mayhem in National League One, smashing people all over the place and putting in some massive hits and carries. He's a tough kid, no doubt about it, and he will add a real aggressive edge to the midfield."

MC Sports have recently negotiated (January 2010) a 2 year contract for promising young Scrum Half James Doherty with the Cornish Pirates. James –“MC Sports have been a great influence on my career and their guidance and recommendation along with my total enjoyment of playing my Rugby at the Pirates made signing this new contract an easy decision. I know I am in safe hands with MC Sports and the Pirates.”

MC Sports have recently negotiated contracts for the following clients for the 2010 - 2011 season.  Pete Swatkins, John Harlock and Alex Loney at Rotherham, Arran Cruickshanks and Chris Rowland at Esher, Mike Denbee at Birmingham Solihull, Lee Audis at Coventry, Gareth Griffiths and Adam Newton at VRAC in Spain, Ben Buxton at Nottingham and Tim Mathias at the Cornish All Blacks.

Congratulations go to Tinus du Plessis for helping Namibia qualify for the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand. Tinus was an outstanding performer in both legs of the World Cup African Play Off Final in November 2009 and stormed over for a try in the second leg to settle Namibian nerves and steer his country through to a fourth World Cup Final Competition. Tinus is already looking forward to a second successive finals competition and will be a key player for his country during 2010 and 2011 when he will be playing in the Vodacom Cup for Namibia as they make their debut in that competition and in the Nations Cup in Romania during the summer of 2010.

Uale Mai enhanced his reputation further by appearing in all three of Samoa's autumn 2009 Internationals against Wales, France and Italy. Irritating issues with the new visa applications that clearly Embassy Staff do not understand prevented this player joining a top Championship side in the January 2010 transfer window. He was in match winning form as Samoa won the IRB 2010 series for the first time and is hopeful of playing in Europe after the 2010 Pacific Nations Cup.

Luke Cozens and Gareth Griffiths toped the points scoring charts in Spain’s Premiership in 2010 with Gareth edging out Luke by 221 points to 218 to win the Golden Boot.

Congratulations go to Dave Palu, Luke Cozens and Jaike Carter for winning the Spanish Premiership with Cetransa El Salvador and to Gareth Griffiths and Adam Newton for winning the Copa Del Rey(Kings Cup) with VRAC. This is  VRAC's first major trophy since 1998.

IRB World 7’s Player of the Year - Uale Mai the Samoan 7’s Captain and World 7’s Player of the Year in 2006 who was also nominated for this prestigious award in 2008 has appointed MC Sports as his official agent. Uale is very keen to play in Europe. This very talented Half Back is equally at home at 9 or 10. Uale helped Samoa qualify for the RWC 2011 in late 2009 and is a regular in the Samoa 15 a side squad. Very experienced and with great skills it is hoped the player will be entertaining crowds in the Northern Hemisphere before too long.
“MC Sports were recommended to me and after speaking to them I had no hesitation in appointing them as my agents” Uale Mai 2009.
