Arran Cruickshank is a very powerful quick Centre. On joining Plymouth he developed into an integral part of the club’s backline and become one of the most experienced players at the club making over 50 appearances. In the 2006/2007 season he won the club’s Young Player of the Year Award.
He has joined Mark Hewitt in Spain at CR La Villa where he has enjoyed the experience of playing against NPC and Currie Cup players. He has taken more responsibility on and off the pitch and has helped CR La Villa to second place in the Spanish Championship; he is widely regarded as the leading Centre in Spain. He has a very good boot and kicks tactically very well. He can punt a ball from his 22 to the opposition 22 touch to relieve pressure. He distributes very well off both hands and takes the ball up impressively staying on his feet. His defence is first class. Good speed he works hard and is an individual that Coaches enjoy having as part of their squad.
Arran has international experience playing for Scotland at the FIRA Championship in 2004 where he was voted Scotland’s Player of the Tournament and touring Russia with England Counties in 2007.
Still only 23 years old he has been a full time professional player for the past 4 seasons. Aaron is well conditioned and is looking for an opening for 2010-2011.
