At 21 years James is one of the youngest Captains in the National Leagues. He is a very talented player who has got a very good sniping game allied to a first class service. He hails from Lancashire so it is no suprise that he has some physicality to his game and regularly hits hard in the tackle. A remarkable feat is that James made his debut for Wharfedale as an 18 year old four seasons ago. He has made 84 continous appearances not missing a single minute of playing time over this period. This is a testament to his ability and conditioning.

James has been involved with the England Counties set up over the past couple of years and is very well thought in RFU circles. At only 21 years of age he has ambitions to play at the highest level and with his application and ability we are sure that clubs will be keen to employ his services for the 2009-2010 season. The player is also keen to experience playing in Europe at some stage of his career.
Any club recruiting James will be recruiting one of the most talented Scrum Halfs in the country
