Whilst at Hartpury College James represented The Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union at the Dubai 7s in 2009 & 2010 and also represented them in the Asian 5 Nations in 2010 playing against Japan, Hong Kong and Korea. The IRB declared that the Arabian Gulf is to merge with other countries so he is not tied international wise to any country. A holder of a GB passport he has a very promising future ahead of him.
He is a natural goal kicker with a range that spans from inside his own half to both touchlines with an unnerving 80% accuracy rate. His clearing kicks are accurate and will pin the opposition back deep in their own territory. Brave under the high ball, good soft hands, very quick feet off the mark, good pace covering the ground at 5.06 seconds for 40 metres and solid in defence. James Love has every ingredient to be a high class Full Back. He has a very pleasant personality who worked very hard physically whilst at Hartpury and has a good mind set to the professional game. James signed off his Hartpury career by scoring 5 tries and kicking 7 out of 9 goals in the final match of the 2010-2011 season.
James signed to Plymouth Albion for the 2011-2012 season and has recently played for a Gloucester Presidents XV v Combined Services and is one of the leading points scorers in the Championship. He has produced some typical eye catching displays and has Man of the Match accolades during this current season. James is keen to test himself at the highest level and we at MC Sports feel that he will realise that ambition.
