Pale Toelupe is a big strong hard-hitting Centre with plenty of pace to play as a wing or Full Back. As with most Islanders Pale is a mild mannered person who will fit into any professional squad. He is a very physical player who uses his 15 stone 10 lbs to very good effect. He has very good soft hands and is a left footed kicker. There are high hopes for him in that he will be a regular fixture in the Samoan side leading up to and including the Rugby World Cup in 2011. He was a Grand Final winner with Easts in 2008 and was a key figure in their road to the championship their first since 1999.
Pale wants to test himself in Europe and the UK and wishes to pursue a professional career through until the next World Cup. His stature and style of play will appeal to most clubs who want a midfield general who is able to physically dominate opposing players and who has excellent technical skills that he uses to out manipulate and out wit the tightest of defences. Educated to university level in Australia Pale is a levelheaded determined individual.
"Pale Toelupe is a very good rugby player that other players want to play with. He is equally adept at 12 or 13 and yet has the ability to play 15 when required. I have played with and coached him at Premier Grade level in Brisbane since 2002 and would class him as one of the better backs the Easts Rugby Union Club has had in the last decade. This has been further evidenced by his recent selection in the Manu Samoa test team in 2008. Hehas the strength and toughness to run through the line or the vision to take an outside hole, and this makes him such a difficult player to defend against. His defence is solid. Pale is a low maintenance player to coach and deal with, and his intelligence off the field, is seen by his decision making on the field. His club Captain Andrew Walker the Australian International holds Pale in very high regard."
